Description
This auction is for a single 807 Marconi RVC Thermionic amplifier tube. It has the rare white ceramic base and is marked in red: "MARCONI RADIOTRON" with the RVC logo, "Licensed by Thermionics " and "Patented in 1939". It has dark gray plates and clear glass. On the glass is marked " Made in Canada" and the numbers 807 in a stop-sign border. The tube looks very good except for some slight loss of ink on the base markings. Type 807 tubes were used in audio power amplifiers, both for public address and Hi-Fi applications, usually being run in push-pull pairs in class AB1 or AB2 giving up to 120 watts of usable power. Less commonly a single 807 was used in a pure class-A, single-ended audio output stage delivering about 10 watts. T hey were popular with ham radio operators. In this application a single 807 could be run in class-C as an oscillator or amplifier. This vintage used tube was carefully tested on my TV-3B/U military tester. The minimum test for a good tube is 2400. This tube tested very strong with a reading of 4050 mho. I warrant the tube to be as described when you receive it. There is no additional warranty. Check my feedback. I describe accurately, pack safely, and ship quickly.
