This tube was not meant to be a copy of any prior KT66. It is a unique design based on the extremely successful JJ KT88. It uses the same plate structure and bottle that the JJ KT88 uses, but that is where the similarity ends. These JJ KT66 new production tubes have a huge bloom in the upper-mids that is open, natural and harmonically-complex, just as the Genalex KT66s do. The low end has a deeply powerful response without the mush. We like this tube in just about any application that requires more power and headroom. These work superbly in just about any amp, and are especially great in Fender, Mesa and Marshall amps.
