A 6AQ5A is equivalent to a 6HG5 tube, but slightly different from a 6AQ5 tube , however normally replaceable. This tube tested great on a reliable Hickok Model 800A tube tester (a dynamic mutual conductance tester). ... and NO shorts or gas detected. Here is the reading in micromhos : 5200 - well above new tube specs! Ref: Minimum readings should be 2460 micromhos (60%) and new tubes should test at 4100 or more micromhos.
