If you’re looking to score a deal ahead of the holidays, you’re not alone. In fact, according to Deloitte’s 2024 Holiday Retail Outlook report, eight in 10 Canadians plan to shop around for the best deals on gifts, putting the emphasis on value this holiday season. 

Black Friday is one of the best opportunities to save, and Best Buy’s Black Friday sale officially starts on Nov. 21 at 12:01 a.m. PST (3:01 a.m. EST). Until then, everything from kitchen appliances to smart home devices and laptops are on sale with today’s pre-Black Friday VIP Sale.

In addition to early Black Friday deals, today only (Nov. 20) shoppers can save big with the Best Buy VIP Sale – a one-day event that’s been around since 2015. 

It’s the best time to score major savings on electronics and appliances, with deals of up to $900 off select TVs, an additional 10 per cent off major appliances, $60 off an Xbox Series X console and more.

Leading up to Black Friday on Nov. 29, Best Buy has a lot going on. In addition to VIP deals, here’s what you need to know about Black Friday at Best Buy. 

As if Black Friday deals weren’t exciting enough, Best Buy has another trick up its sleeve with Daily Door Crashers. Each day at midnight PST (3 a.m. EST), a new selection of items can be found at a steep discount – up to 75 per cent off. The only catch? These deals are only available for 24 hours and end at 11:59 p.m. PST (2:59 a.m. EST).

When shopping for Black Friday early, it can be a little fuzzy when trying to figure out if the prices will change in the days leading up to Nov. 29. 

At Best Buy, any product that’s marked with a “Black Friday Price Now” badge is guaranteed to remain at the same price at the start of the sale on Nov. 21 and until Black Friday. If Best Buy lowers the price during the applicable sale, you’ll be refunded the difference — just follow the steps outlined here to request the refund.

This holiday season, Best Buy is looking to cut down on frustration when it comes to returns and exchanges. For items that are purchased between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31, 2024 (that includes Black Friday and Cyber Monday purchases), customers have until Jan. 12, 2025, to request a refund or exchange.
